Aphid killers with lacewing larvae

£20.00

Lacewing larvae occur naturally in the garden but often aphids numbers explode (especially in warm weather) and the lacewings can't eat them all. By releasing extra lacewing larvae, aphids can be controlled naturally. They are sprinkled over the affected plants and soon settle down to feed on aphids and other soft bodied insects such as whitefly and thrip. Lacewing larvae can be introduced as soon as the temperatures are above 10°c / 50°f - normally anytime between May and September.

1 Lacewing larva can each eats around 300 + aphids before turning into an adult lacewing.

Will feed on other pests including whitefly and red spider mite.

A Natural preditor that are Safe to use - Safe for children, pets and wildlife

Aphids, often known as greenfly or blackfly are a major pest. They cause plant damage by feeding on sap, leading to stunting of growth, leaf curling and in extreme cases, plant death. The insect Chrysoperla carnea, more commonly known as a Lacewing is, at its larval stage, an effective predator of aphids. It has also been observed eating other pests like thrips, red spider mite and moths eggs; each larvae can consume up to 50 aphids a day and up to 300 before they pupate.

Lacewings are better suited to low growing plants like bedding or pot plants.
We supply Lacewings in buckwheat which allows the larvae to hide from each other during transport. The product should be sprinkled over the infected plants. It is recommended to use Lacewing larvae in greenhouses or conservatories, although spot treatments outdoors are possible when temperatures are above 12C (54F). Apply the Larvae when Greenfly or aphids are observed on plants.

One bottle will treat about 40-50 plants. Simply gently shake the contents of the container over the infected area of the plant. For severe infestations a repeat application maybe required.

Do not use pesticides before of after introduction of this product.

Please allow a week for delivery. The package will fit through a normal sized letter box.
