I have the above plant in my garden but don't know how to care for it. Is it's common name a wax flower ?

The plant you have is a Waxflower (Geraldton Waxflower) and from what I can see there is a White and Pink form, it is an evergreen bushy shrub with needle like leaves that have a tiny hook at the end, it flowers in late Winter or Spring.
The plant is frost tender a min. 5C (41F) but best at 7-10C (45-50F) so probably best grown in a container so that it can be bought in during the winter.
I will write what I have written in front of me for the rest, requires full sun and well-drained, sandy, neutral to acid soil. Water containerised specimens moderately, sparingly when not in full growth. To maintain a compact habit, cut back flowered stems by half when the last bloom falls.
I hope this will be of some help,

Dear Summer House,
We really appreciate your replies. Great stuff.
Please keep it up.
I will send you a copy of the Complete Gardens 2,500 plant care & plant finder CD when it's finished. As a thank you.
It's close to completion. It should work on a Mac as well.
Best wishes

Dear Niel,
I thank you for your kind note and the offer of the new CD which I will look forward to getting, if it is anything like as good as the last two it will be excellent and no doubt it will be better I can't wait. I enjoy looking through the letters and putting the little bit of knowlege I have to the test with a lot of help from the books I have and the net it's good fun, I hope it's of some help.
Thank once again,
Summer House
