Mum has two plants in her garden and would like to know what they are. I doubt they are anything special but....
Plant 1 is a shrub against a fence. height is approx 6ft with a spread of 3 ft. Evergreen and now in full bloom (December) with white flowers
Plant 2 is in a hanging basket and has a trailing habit. Flowers are quite intriguing

Have a search for Trachelospermum asiaticum and see if this is similar to No1.

I go along with Trachelospermum asiaticum as well - though it should have long since finished flowering - and also don't know what the second plant is. Are you in the UK?

'Merseyside' is most definitely in the UK. Sorry, me being silly:D

Tsk, Merseyside - I didn't notice that, Paul.
Whatever, it shouldn't be flowering now.

Absolutely, but I'm presumably (probably wrongly) that Continua took those pics some time ago. Heavens knows what No2 is though.

Found it - it's Lotus maculatus. I grew some of this a few years ago in a hanging basket and it was wonderful. Not very hardy, mind you.

Thank you folks
Well, the photos were taken the day I posted - and both plants are still in bloom and thriving. OK, just one or two flowers now on the plant in the hanging basket but the white flowered plant is laden. All down to this strange weather I guess

Addendum
The white flowerd plant is still blooming today (2 Jan). However, there is NO fragrance from the flowers - and mum tells me there is none/ very slight even when it flowers in later summer or autumn. I will take some close up pics of the flowers and leaves. The plant was acquired from a general houshold goods shop that also sold a few bedding plants etc. There was no label and it was about about 8 inches high then and is about 6ft now

I'm now wondering if the first plant is an Abelia, possibly schumannii or x grandiflora?
