Can anyone identify this house plant?

Can anyone identify a house plant, I threw away the wrapper with the name on. All I remember from the wrapper is that it likes a bright position, even full sun. The leaves are dark and thick, like a kalanchoe, but the red flowers are more like tiny floribunda roses. (The wrapper definitely didn't say kalanchoe.)

Since getting the plant I have adopted some kittens and need to check whether the plant is poisonous to cats.
