Balinese mystery plant

A friend gave me some seeds from a plant which proliferates in Bali - can anyone tell me what it is please. Also how can it survive the winter? Many thanks.

Yes it does but in the flesh (leaf?) it clearly isn't - someone has suggested the Impatiens family which does seem to fit the leaf shape and configuaration - if this is a possibility will it survive the winter indoors? Thanks very much for responding and for any advice.
