I love Hamamelis so I've made a time-lapse of Hamamelis 'Westerstede' flowers opening.
They have unusual flowers which adds colour to a garden when there's not much else in flower. They also have a delicate scent.

Wow!
I just happened to be looking round the site and came across this. Stunning time lapse. Thank you!

Hamamellis is a firm favourite of mine. I am addicted. They started to open with us in Dec, and some still had flowers in March. They really lift my spirits during the dull, dreary, dark winter days.

The scent varies so with the different named cultivars.
H. x intermedia Arnold Promise is maybe my favourite for scent. While H. x intermedia Orange Peel my favourite for a stunning orange.

They are also excellent in the autumn for their coloured leaves.

( Posted 2 pics.. but they mysteriously got moved to post about Pieris id, so deleted them!)
