I'm sorry not to have contributed to the forum lately. I do pop in here to see whose writing what.
As I'm not planning exhibiting at shows in the near future to promote my CD-ROM, I've been busy getting set up for digital time-lapses. I've pretty much done that now and have started doing soem commissioned work.
I did some filming for the Japanese Natural History Unit, filmed a new variety of rose for Robert Mattock Roses and now I'm doing some filming for a new series touching on the Science of Gardening for the BBC Gardeners World.
I did an Echinops which you might like to see. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hJ1cp38QeyQ&feature=channel_page

Best wishes
Neil

It's good to see you popping in Neil:) Love the Echinops clip.

Good luck with the filming too, is the 'Science of Gardening' going to be part of the GW programme or will it be shown separately?

That's good news about the BBC contract, Neil.

I like the latest vid - interesting how the flowers seem to open in layers. It isn't something I'd ever noticed so I'll have to look at them more closely now.

Hi Sue and Miranda,
The time-lapses I'm doing for the BBC Gardeners World will be shown next February and have presenter Carol Clien talking about the Science of Gardening and she goes into how plants grow and their design.
It should be fascinating. It won't be as in-depth as the 'Private Life Of Plants' but if they get a good audience response then maybe they will want to do more.

I like the Echinops too. They don't produce all the flowers in one go. This ensures that even if there are periods of cold and rain and the insects take shelter, when the weather improves there will still be some flowers for the insects to pollinate.
The teasle is pretty impressive too with bands of flowers appearing but I've not done that one yet.

Thanks for the info on the programme Neil, I usually watch most of the GW's so shouldn't miss it. Let's hope the viewing figures are good and more programmes can be made:)
