Hi

Does anyone know anything about the Russian Vine? I know it's one of the fastest growing climber plants but does it kill the trees/shrubs that it wraps itself around?

Hi JoyB,
Yes it will kill the plant or plants it is growing over, it just seems to take all the light. We had one for years but it had to go in the end it just got to big, it's called The Mile a Minute Plant.

Hi Summer House,

It's growing over two conifers which I wish I'd never planted so hopefully it will stop them from growing and save me having to get them pruned every year.

I agree, it does stop the light but my Russian Vine is at the top of the garden so at the moment it's not causing me too much of a problem.

Hi JoyB,
I meant to say it takes all the light from the plant it's growing over, this is what kills the host plant.
