:D Hi I'm new to this site today.

I am looking forward to gardening chat and such. I do have a question thou, so here goes!

I Just puchased Morning Glory seeds today, and was wondering if climbing on a wooden fence would be ok??

I Have right now Mandevillas two types and only one is starting to climb. I heard somewhere that MG would climb like weeds and were easy to grow. Any information on this would be greatly appreicated!! :D

Thanks,:)

Hi Norma,

Morning Glory is not to difficult to grow but likes the warm weather so get it started indoors and not to early, April will be soon enough then plant out in a sunny spot after hardening off at the beginning of June if the plants are big enough by then, It will need something to climb up but I have never managed to grow them very high, 4 to 5ft should be enough. The flowers are beautiful when they come out and well worth the effort.

I hope this will be of some help,

Hi Norma,

I would like to correct something I said in my last communication as to how high Morning Glory grow. Up until this summer I have only ever managed to grow MG to a height of 4,5,6ft at the most but this year with all the extra heat we have been having they are trying to climb in through my bedroom window. So put them in a warm spot in a large pot give them something to grow up and given the right conditions they will give you lots of growth and lots of beautiful flowers every morning.
