I have a well established spindle tree, planted in Nov. 1990 when it was laden with berries. However the tree has never borne berries since, although it is in good health otherwise, any suggestions?

It seems the Spindle Tree (Euonymous europaeus) likes a sunny position and well drained soil. Where did you plant yours, Joe?
And BTW welcome to our friendly gardening message board.

Euonymus are woodland plants and can grow quite well in shade, so I think it might be more likely that it isn't fruiting well because it isn't being pollinated properly. It is said that they fruit better in groups, so my suggestion would be to get another plant and put it nearby.

The tree is in a reasonable location considering the preferences of this species. Recently I have cleared out other shrubs and trees that were maybe crowding it somewhat so maybe with more sunlight getting to it next season it may bear fruit?
