I am an avid fan of Japanese Acers and have six different types at the moment. I am having a bit of trouble with the Viridis which I bought last year and potted in good tree and shrub compost. It started off brilliantly beautiful display of green leaves but has recently shown signs of leaves going brown and curling at ends and has thinned out tremendously. I love this tree and can't understand why it has gone like this. My Garnet and Atropurpureum are absolutely lovely. I know it's been a bit windy but I have tried to shelter it. I haven't overwatered and have fed with blood fish and bone. I am really upset - does anyone have any advice? Please help

Hi Lynne,
Mine did much the same this year. I think that it a combination of the dry weather thus very dry soil and drying winds.
