This year has been the wettest for years.
Although the UK is suffering from floods the slugs seem to love this wet weather and some of the brown slugs in my allotment are massive.
I'm letting them munch my Romanesco leaves as they seem too tough to cook. Does anyone know if the leaves are like cabbage and used in cooking or is it just the cauliflower-like centres that are edible

Hello Neil, we've had the chopped stems of cauliflower leaves served in an Indian meal and it was really good. You could try using them that way. Not sure about the actual leaf - why don't you try it and see?

This week we've been eating our runner beans, which are superb, and yesterday dug up some potatoes for the first time. They are called 'Anya' or 'Anyan' and are really excellent. When I've harvested them, I shall grow some potatoes to eat with our christmas dinner.
